Slow-Speed Pursuit in Plainview: Dashcam Video Captures Police Chase on Plainview Road

PLAINVIEW, NEW YORK - Dashcam video shows the moment a woman led police on a slow-speed pursuit down Plainview Road early Thursday evening.

According to witnesses, a woman driving a BMW sedan fled from police officers after being pulled over for an unknown reason just before 6:00 PM in Plainview. The driver continued to evade police at a slow speed until a patrol car cut her off on Plainview Road in front of the Charles Campagne Elementary School in Bethpage, forcing her to stop.

Dashcam video obtained by Priority News Network captures the moments when police were pursuing the vehicle on Plainview Road and the scene shortly after the car was stopped.

Police officers and medics spent nearly an hour talking to the woman after stopping the vehicle.

"She was extremely distraught for some reason, but the cops did a great job of talking her down,", said a Bethpage man who requested to remain anonymous. "I hope she gets help with whatever she's dealing with, I'm glad it turned out the way it did. You see these things turn bad all over the country on a regular basis."

The woman was transported to an area hospital by Nassau County Police.

The reason that the vehicle was originally stopped is currently unknown.
