Lacrosse Earns IWLCA Team And Individual Academic Honors
The Central Connecticut lacrosse team was honored for its success in the classroom, with the announcement of the IWLCA Academic Awards. The Blue Devils earned 2024 Academic Honor Squad recognition. Eight Blue Devils received individual recognition, being named to the IWLCA Division I Honor Roll. Alexa Efron, Mikayla Lecci, An Poropat, Meredith Ravizza, Talie Richardson, Kya Risher, Lauren Valluzzi and Shaelyn Yermal posted cumulative GPA over 3.5 and are juniors or above. Chase Dollander makes Double-A debut
Former Tennessee pitcher Chase Dollander made his Double-A minor league debut with Hartford on Wednesday. Dollander pitched four innings in the Yard Goats’, 7-1, win versus Harrisburg. He recorded five strikeouts, while allowing three walks, one hit and one run (zero earned) in the contest. Hartford competes in the Eastern League and are located in Hartford, Connecticut. Dollander was selected in the first-round of the 2023 Major League Baseball draft (No. 9 overall). He played for the Vols from 2022-23. Dollander (17-6) appeared in 33 games, including 31 starts, for the Vols. He recorded 228 strikeouts, one complete game and a .364 ERA in 168 innings pitched during his Tennessee career.
