So. Indiana Area McDonald’s Restaurants Support Local Schools with “Fries for School Supplies” Fundraiser
Who knew that indulging in a delicious order of McDonald’s fries could make such a big difference in our community? From August 26th to 30th, local McDonald’s owner-operators are turning their fry boxes into tools for change with the "Fries for School Supplies" fundraiser. During these five days, 10% of all à la carte fry sales will be donated directly to local schools.

In the early game, the Grant County Braves took on the Waggener Wildcats. Cameron Duncan commanded the offense for Grant County, going up two scores and holding off a resilient, determined Waggener squad. Duncan scored first, while Wyatt Hucker caught a 20 yard TD pass from Duncan. Jemal Wremeo scored the first of his two touchdowns for Waggener from 24 yards out in the first half. In the second half, Bryson Webster extended the lead on a 2 yard run. Before Wremeo’s second score from 61 yards out on a pass reception. Webster added his second score of the game in the fourth to strengthen the Grant County lead. While Ethan Fanin iced the game recovering an offensive fumble in the endzone for the final score of the game.

JACKSON, Ky. (WYMT) - A business in Breathitt County was destroyed after an early Saturday morning fire. Officials with the Jackson Fire Department said the fire happened at a building on Lower Main St. in Jackson. Crews blocked off the road for several hours as they put out the flames.

She was found dead more than a year ago, in the large home of a well-known eastern Kentucky dentist. Roughly 13 months later, on July 30, the dentist and his son — Michael McKinney II and Michael McKinney III — were arrested in connection with the fatal stabbing of Amber Spradlin, 39. The circumstances surrounding her killing remain unclear and have cast what a local official described as a “cloud” over the community where she lived.
Black Bears start season off with 25-7 road win over Middlesboro
MIDDLESBORO — The young and talented Harlan County Black Bears picked up a huge road win to start the 2024 campaign, defeating Middlesboro, 25-7. The game was scoreless for almost the entire first half until James Howard put the Black Bears on the scoreboard with a four-yard touchdown run to give his team a 7-0 lead with 3:10 remaining until halftime.
