KCS working with East Bank Middle School to find solution for home football games
EAST BANK, W.Va. (WCHS) — The East Bank Middle School football team just might get to play games on their field this upcoming season after all. Calvert Field, where the team plays, was deemed unsafe after structural engineers said games could not be played until repairs are made. The field can still be used, but the current state of areas like the press box and bleachers have made it to where games cannot be hosted there. That means home games would have to be played somewhere else.

Mount Hope excited to expand city’s boundaries with Appalachian Heights site
MOUNT HOPE, WV (WOAY) – The city of Mount Hope recently made an intergovernmental agreement with Raleigh County regarding the Appalachian Heights site. Mayor Michael Kessinger calls it a positive step that they annexed Route 19 south into Raleigh at the North Beckley exit, expanding the city’s boundaries and the pipe yard adjacent to 19 to the right.

Three arrested for kidnapping, assault in Summers County
MEADOW BRIDGE W.Va. (Hinton News) - A 70-year-old man was reportedly kidnapped, robbed and beaten in Summers County on Thursday July 15. Three individuals have been arrested. According to a statement from the West Virginia State Police, "On Thursday, July 18, 2024, Senior Trooper S. K.
