On December 5th, 2023, 22-year-old Izaye Yahim Eubanks was sentenced to 20 years in prison for federal and state crimes. Eubanks confessed to various hate crimes against eight Haitian nationals. In August he pleaded guilty in the U.S. District Court and Clark County Common Pleas Court to charges stemming from January and February assaults, robberies, and a carjacking of Haitian nationals. Eubanks crimes against the Haitian individuals were motivated because of the victim’s actual or perceived nationality, according to court documents.

On October 25th, 2023 a Franklin County Grand Jury indicted 33-year-old Rebecca Auborn, of Northeast Columbus, Ohio for a list of charges, including murder charges. The indictments were announced by Ohio Attorney General, Dave Yost. The Attorney General has considered Auborn to be a serial killer for her cold calculated crimes.

A Lieutenant in the Akron Police Department in Ohio was demoted and disciplined for performing sex acts while on duty. The demotion of Lieutenant Edward Patalon, who has been with the Akron Police Department for 23 years, was confirmed by Akron Police Lieutenant Michael Miller. During an internal investigation, it was revealed that Patalon would take and send sexually explicit photographs while in uniform at APD headquarters. The department's internal investigation also found the officer would have consensual sex with an ex fiance at his home while on duty. The ex fiance was the one who reported Patalon to officials. Police officials also said there was an incident where he would use his police issued uniform and handcuffs while having consensual sex. Following the internal investigation, the department chose to discipline Edward Patalon, formerly a lieutenant, for actions that brought "dishonor" to the force. Patalon was suspended for 90 days without pay, was handed a two rank demotion and a salary release of over $18,000. Patalon was promoted to Lieutenant rank in June 2017. Akron police Chief Steve Mylett said the rules of the department outline that officers "shall not participate in any activity that impairs their ability to perform their duties or bring dishonor to the Akron Police Department," in an official statement. "When this officer engaged in this unacceptable behavior, he did not hold himself to this standard, and his actions were not in alignment with the principles and values of our agency," Chief Mylett said. "As a direct result of his actions, he was held accountable and severely disciplined."

The Columbus Police Department in Ohio have arrested a housing director after the man allegedly forced one of his tenants to perform sexual acts on him to avoid eviction. On Wednesday, 44-year-old Charles R. Smith Jr. was arrested on a felony count of rape with threat of force, the Franklin County Municipal Court records show.

The U.S. Marshal Service have located 23-year-old Christian Demond Williams a murder suspect that had been missing for 7 months, while they were following a lead on the October 16th, 2023 escape from the Bibb County Jail. He was scheduled to start trial on March 6th, 2023, but mysteriously he was kidnapped in the early morning hours the same day.

The FBI along with other law enforcement agencies launched a massive manhunt after four inmates escaped from the Bibb County Jail in Macon, GA on Monday. West Virginia law enforcement agencies are on high alert after learning that at least one of the inmates has ties to West Virginia.

A teacher who is employed at Edison Local Schools, Chad Marcino was arrested on Wednesday, October 18. The arrest came after Marcino allegedly assaulted an 8th grade junior high football player shortly after a game.
