(PUEBLO, Colo.) — The YMCA of Pueblo will be a host site for the 2024 Texas 4000 for Cancer bike ride participants on Sunday, June 9.

Texas 4000 is the world’s largest charity bike ride, the YMCA will be hosting approximately 30 bike riders on Sunday and is set to arrive at approximately 7:30 p.m.

Once there, the YMCA will host Texas 4000 participants for dinner on June 9 and for breakfast the following morning.

“We are elated to host the Texas 4000 for Cancer riders at the YMCA of Pueblo,” said Director of Sales and Mission Advancement for the YMCA of Pueblo Brandon Samora. “As a like-minded
organization, we share the eagerness to showcase the mission they ride for. This is a highly
accomplished group of riders, and what they’re doing is nothing short of amazing. They’re an
inspiration to our organization and we are eager to host them this weekend.”

Texas 4000 for Cancer selects students from the University of Texas to join their 18-month program. They train students on fitness and nutrition, so they are prepared for their 70-day, over 4,000 mile cross-continental journey.

The group is set to bring cancer prevention information to communities and spread awareness of their contributions to cancer support services while developing the next generation of volunteers and philanthropists.

Donations were made by the Pueblo West Walmart to support the purchase of food and supplies for the riders’ arrival. The YMCA team will be cooking dinner.
