    Swimmer who died in Lake Pueblo identified

    (PUEBLO, Colo.) — The Pueblo County Coroner has identified the person who was pulled from Lake Pueblo on Saturday, June 15, following a swimming accident.

    The coroner announced on Tuesday, June 18 that the swimmer was identified as 40-year-old Juan Jimenez, and declared the death accidental.

    Body recovered after swimmer went missing in Lake Pueblo

    Jimenez went missing on June 15 near the Sailboard Beach area, according to witnesses. Colorado Parks and Wildlife (CPW) rangers and Pueblo County Sheriff’s Office divers searched for several hours, eventually locating Jimenez’ body approximately 75 feet from the shore around 11 p.m.

    According to CPW’s unofficial estimate, this is the 17th water-related death in Colorado in 2024.
