(PUEBLO/CUSTER COUNTIES, Colo.) — The U.S. Forest Service (USFS) announced new updated road and trail closures near the Oak Ridge Fire in Beulah on Tuesday, July 16.

The closures within the San Carlos Ranger District, Pike-San Isabel National Forests & Cimarron, and Comanche National Grasslands (PSICC) are in effect to protect the health and safety of the public and fire personnel of the Oak Ridge Fire.

Effective July 16 at 3 p.m., Forest Service Road (FSR) 324 (Bigelow), FSR 324.A (Bigelow Spur), and FSR 383 (Ditch Creek) beyond the junction of FSR 383 and FSR 383.A are under a mandatory closure. Silver Circle Trail and Middle Creek Trail are closed for travel and dispersed camping.

The order will be in effect through August 16, 2024 at 11:59 p.m. unless rescinded.

A 24-hour Temporary Flight Restriction (TFR) is still in effect. The TFR restricts any private drones from flying over the fire. Air incursions impede firefighting efforts, those who violate the restriction will be immediately reported to law enforcement.

As of Wednesday, July 17, the Oak Ridge Fire stood at 1,310 acres with 89% of it contained.
