Hudson Valley Towns Benefit from $30 Million in Federal Grants for Water Infrastructure
The Hudson Valley region is set to receive a substantial boost in its efforts to enhance water quality and infrastructure, thanks to $30 million in grants from the federal Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL). Saturday August 24, 2024 — A slight increase in mid to upper level clouds this afternoon has made blue skies a touch hazy, but under approaching high pressure, conditions have remained mainly dry. The lone exception has been down Route 104 west towards Niagara and Erie Counties where a few showers have popped over the course of the middle of the afternoon. The showers will weaken as it runs into drier air to the east, possibly just clipping parts of Monroe County.

Pennock Retires After Commendable Career With Oswego County Youth
OSWEGO COUNTY – The Oswego County Legislature’s Human Services Committee presents Patricia Pennock with a certificate of appreciation upon her retirement as a senior caseworker with the Oswego County Department of Social Services (DSS). Pennock dedicated her 35-year career to helping children find security and stability, eventually becoming supervisor of the Foster Care Team in 2011. Throughout her tenure, she trained foster parents, advocated for children and helped them achieve permanency through adoption. While her vast knowledge of foster care and adoption processes will be sorely missed, Pennock’s retirement is well-deserved and she was applauded for her hard work and compassion. Statewide ‘High Visibility Engagement Campaign’ Continues Through Labor Day
OSWEGO COUNTY – Oswego County STOP-DWI Coordinator David Hall reports that police agencies and STOP-DWI coordinators across the state will continue their end-of-summer “High Visibility Engagement Campaign” through Labor Day, Sept. 2.
