SHAWANO — A 50-year-old Pulaski-area man was killed in a motorcycle crash Wednesday night, according to the Shawano County Sheriff's Office.

At 8:15 p.m. June 26, the Shawano County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call about a motorcycle in a ditch, and an unresponsive man lying in a field near Shawano County E and Lodge Road in the town of Washington.

The motorcycle appeared to be westbound on County E, approaching the curve at Lodge Road, the sheriff's office said, but the driver did not slow down in time for the curve, drove into the ditch, lost control of the motorcycle and flipped several times.

When deputies and EMS arrived, CPR was in progress, but the driver of the motorcycle was pronounced dead on the scene, according to the sheriff’s office.

The motorcycle driver was not wearing a helmet and law enforcement officials believe alcohol was a factor, the sheriff's office said.
