Virgin River star Martin Henderson just confirmed that Netflix is one step closer to the season six premiere , and to say fans are thrilled would be an understatement.
On Instagram, the 49-year-old actor confirmed that the upcoming season is officially in the post-production stage, which means filming is now wrapped. Henderson shared a behind-the-scenes pic, featuring a never-before-seen glimpse of Mel ( Alexandra Breckenridge ) and Jack (Henderson) in season six, and wrote, "Back in the booth getting post-production just right for season 6 of #Virginriver."
In the post, Henderson poses in front of a screen that partially shows his character, Jack, smiling at Mel as they stand outdoors. One fan commented, "So exciting!!! Can’t wait for season 6!! Thank you for all you do to make this show perfect for us fans!!!" Another wrote, "Can't wait to watch S6 of Virgin River ! Missing Jack and Mel!"
Henderson's latest update comes about two months after he shared a behind-the-scenes selfie while getting his makeup done. He captioned the post, "It takes an army! Final stretch of shooting Season 6 of #virginriverseries….make up making me presentable for shooting the last few scenes. Been a huge season with a lot of what I hope makes you fans very happy."
If you recall, the cast and crew started filming in February . Henderson confirmed the news with a BTS post and said, "Aaaaaannnnnnndddddd……we’re back! Back at it in Vancouver commencing shooting for season 6 of #virginriver. That’s right folks, we are at it again! Feels so good to be back in Jack’s boots making more what we hope to be riveting, romantic and racy drama for y’all."
While chatting with Netflix's Tudum in April, showrunner Patrick Sean Smith teased what fans can expect. He said, “Mel and Jack will advance on their path to parenthood while also turning Lilly’s farm into their ultimate dream home.”
He added, “Babies and wedding bells are never off the table on Virgin River .”
Season six will take place a few months after the holiday episodes in season five, and Henderson and Breckenridge will be joined by Tim Matheson , Annette O’Toole , Colin Lawrence , Benjamin Hollingsworth , Zibby Allen , Sarah Dugdale , Marco Grazzini , Mark Ghanimé , Kai Bradbury and Kandyse McClure . A release date has yet to be announced, but Netflix did confirm that new episodes would premiere later this year.
