Prince William Posts New Video from Princess Diana-Inspired Event—But One Notable Royal Is Missing from the Footage

Aside from making headlines with his surprising new beard , Prince William has also garnered attention for honoring his late mother's legacy at a special London event.

Back in March, the Prince of Wales attended the Diana Legacy Awards at the Science Museum, where he delivered a touching speech and celebrated young activists who are positively impacting their communities. During his remarks, he said, “I know that [Princess Diana] would have been honored to see a charity in her name doing such inspirational work to uplift young people from all corners of the globe. She taught me that everyone has the potential to give something back, that everyone in need deserves a supporting hand in life. I am so proud to see this belief of my mother’s manifested in the amazing young people receiving the Legacy Award tonight.”

Now, in honor of International Youth Day, several highlights from the ceremony were shared in a montage on the official Instagram account, and Prince William proceeded to share the post to his IG Story. He wrote, "The @dianaaward's young social activists are incredible young people committed to social action, promoting human excellence and inspiring future generations."

However, I noticed something odd about the recap video. Prince Harry , who also made an appearance, is nowhere in sight.

At the time, the prince's younger brother made a virtual appearance and shared some encouragement with the winners. During his 30-minute video call, he said, “So much of the future depends on you guys, and some of you may feel as though the work that you're doing is small. Some may feel as though it's big. Wherever it goes, whatever it does, the impact that you are having on hundreds of thousands, millions of people...that inspiration is like this ripple effect that goes across the water."

He added, "I am seriously impressed with the with the work that you do, especially at the young age that you're at. And the future is yours. You're helping to shape that future."

This marked one of the very few joint appearances by the royal siblings after Harry's royal exit (even though the two technically didn't interact), so naturally, I expected to see both William and Harry in the recap video. Still, while the latter's absence strikes me as a bit odd, it's likely these highlights were intentionally limited to in-person moments.

This ceremony marked the 25th anniversary of The Diana Award, and a total of 20 recipients received the honor. Per the official website, the award aims to "create opportunities for the world’s leading humanitarian and social activists and strengthen their impact."

Here's hoping I'll see more joint appearances by Prince William and Prince Harry.
