Prince William and Kate Middleton Surprise Widow who Lost Husband to Cancer with Heartfelt Letter

Prince William and Kate Middleton penned a heartfelt letter to the widow of a Welsh pizza seller they met last year, following his passing from cancer at the age of 47.

The royal couple, both 42, penned a deeply moving message to honor Peter Morris, the beloved owner of the Little Dragon Pizza Van, who they met in 2023. As reported by The Sun , Prince William personally sent a letter on Kensington Palace stationery to Peter’s widow, Tracey, 40, which was read aloud during his funeral.

In the letter, Prince William expressed his and Kate’s sadness, writing, “I wanted to write to express how terribly sorry Catherine and I were to hear the very sad news about your husband, Pete, and to send you our deepest sympathies. We can only begin to imagine what an immense hole he will leave in your life and my heart goes out to you and your family.”

“Catherine and I thoroughly enjoyed meeting Pete,” William continued, acknowledging Pete’s impact on his community. “We know that Pete was a hugely dedicated and highly valued member of the community which has been evident from the response to his passing. I hope you can draw comfort from the knowledge of the impact he has had on so many people.”

”I appreciate that this letter alone can be of little comfort under such circumstance, but I did want you to know just how much you and your family are in our thoughts at such a difficult time.”

He closed the letter with a personal touch, handwriting, "With my deepest condolences, William."

According to The Sun , this touching letter will be framed for Peter’s young daughters, who are just 5 and 8 years old.

Tracey shared with the outlet how much the gesture meant to her, saying it was “a massive surprise.” She added, “I don’t even know how they found out Pete had died. Maybe it struck a chord with them because Kate is also going through treatment.”

Princess Catherine opened up about her own health challenges earlier this year, revealing her cancer diagnosis in a candid video shared on social media in March, following an abdominal surgery .
