Prince William Breaks Summer Silence with Touching Personal Note One Day After Surprise Appearance

Before he returns to his royal duties , Prince William , 42, is enjoying the final days of his summer holiday with his wife, Kate Middleton (who previously revealed she was undergoing cancer treatment ), and his three kids, Prince George , 11, Princess Charlotte , 9, and Prince Louis , 6. While we haven’t seen much of the Prince of Wales during these past few weeks, he hasn’t been completely MIA from social media.

First, the future king broke his summer vacation silence back in July, where he posted a personal statement (along with his initials) in honor of World Ranger Day . Then, the prince and his wife made a surprise appearance this past Sunday. And now, the royal father of three is speaking out once again to dedicate a touching tribute to former England football manager Sven-Goran Eriksson, who recently passed away at the age of 76 after being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer.

In a new tweet shared on the Prince and Princess of Wales’s X (formerly Twitter) page , Prince William wrote, “Sad to hear about the passing of Sven-Göran Eriksson. I met him several times as England manager and was always struck by his charisma and passion for the game. My thoughts are with his family and friends. A true gentleman of the game.” And he signed the note with his initial: “W.”

This is not the first time the prince has broken his summer silence to pen a heartfelt tribute to someone online. In fact, Prince William and Princess Catherine took a break from their summer break to send their condolences to the widow of a Welsh pizza seller they met in 2023, after he died from cancer at the age of 47.

According to The Sun , the Prince of Wales personally sent a letter on Kensington Palace stationary to Peter’s widow, Tracey. Her late husband, Peter Morris, was the owner of the Little Dragon Pizza Van.

In the letter, Prince William wrote, “I wanted to write to express how terribly sorry Catherine and I were to hear the very sad news about your husband, Pete, and to send you our deepest sympathies. We can only begin to imagine what an immense hole he will leave in your life and my heart goes out to you and your family.”

Such kind words coming from the prince.
