Human Lie Detector Says Prince William Has These ‘Same Character Traits’ as Dad King Charles

It's no secret that Prince William and his dad, King Charles , have quite a bit in common. For one, both are passionate about their philanthropic efforts, and I've noticed a striking resemblance between the two when they smile at royal events. But now, according to a body language expert, there's yet another similarity that I might have missed.

Yesterday, the Prince of Wales, 42, visited the newly opened Birtley Community Pool in northeast England, and before heading inside, he stopped to greet a group of well-wishers—a common gesture that I've also seen from His Majesty. Darren Stanton , also known as television's human lie detector, closely observed the prince's gestures and, speaking on behalf of Betfair Live Casino , he told me, "The one thing that strikes me about William is that he always wants to give. We never see him exit a vehicle and walk straight into a venue. He always takes the time and effort to go to barriers and meet people."

"You can see in people’s faces, he’s got so much respect and admiration from them. You can also see in his face that he genuinely loves to meet people. Sometimes, not so much with the royal family, but celebrities tend to see it as a chore to speak to people who support them. But with William, we always see a great sense of genuine willingness to meet people. When people speak to him, there’s no fake smiles, fake gestures or inauthenticity. We just see genuine interest in listening to what people say to him."

As seen in the following pic, the Prince looks genuinely happy to engage with several fans. And even with his royal aides in attendance, Stanton notes that William will often briefly separate himself from security in the process, because it’s "important for William to be his own man."

The expert also notes that this is a common gesture for his father, King Charles, who often ventures out to speak with the locals. Stanton said, "You also see that with King Charles, who very much has the same character traits, where he will make time to break off from security and protocols to make sure he interacts with people. They are both very giving to the public.”

In case you need proof, check out this snap of the king meeting with well-wishers after leaving the Scottish Parliament in Edinburgh last month.

Similar to Prince William, King Charles is delighted to shake hands and engage with the crowd before going about his royal duties. But this familiar gesture isn't the only thing Stanton took notice of.

Regarding Prince William's confidence, he said, "This is a man carrying so much pressure and responsibility, but when he walks now, his shoulders are back and he’s upright. We also don’t see any gestures of self-doubt, nerves or any significant demonstrations of where he used to bite his lip or tuck his hands into pockets. We see a very self-assured man."

Looks like Prince William is already shaping up to be a great future king.
