According to Witherspoon, it has "everything you could want in a thriller: secret identities, a mysterious boss and a cat and mouse game that kept me guessing the whole way through." Reviewers agree that the twists, turns and well-developed characters kept them hooked from the jump.
Looking for something a little lighter? Then you're gonna want to get this beautiful sprayed edge version of The Rom-Commers in your cart before it sells out. In this (you guessed it) rom-com, aspiring screenwriter Emma Wheeler gets a big break when she's offered the chance to re-write a famous screenwriter's script over six months in L.A. The problem? Said screenwriter has no interest in working with her, and is only using this script as a means to get a different project green-lit. But Emma fights for the script and sets out to convince him that rom-coms and love stories matter—even if she has to kiss him to do it (I think you can tell where it's going from here).
Considering this book is not only one of Barack Obama's favorite books of the summer, but also a New York Times best seller *and* a Good Morning America book club pick, it's definitely one to have on your radar during the sale. This sci-fi novel is part time-travel romance, part spy thriller, part workplace comedy, so if you're in the mood for a book that practically checks all the boxes, this could be it. Set in the near future, a civil servant agrees to an unknown project for a salary that can't be passed up, and finds herself living with expat "1874," Commander Graham Goore.

Leigh Bardugo's The Familiar is on my own fall reading list after recently finishing Ninth House (which I highly recommend, especially if you're into dark academia vibes ), and since it's earned a spot on the New York Times and Indie best sellers lists, I have no doubt I'll love it just as much. Set in the Spanish Golden Age, this is the story of Luzia Cotado, a scullion who uses a sprinkle of magic to get through her grueling days. But when she catches the attention of Antonio Pérez, a now disgraced man who was the former secretary of the king, she begins to use her magic as their one chance to again gain favor with the king. Luzia is lead on a dangerous path that puts her at risk of the Inquisition's wrath in light of her Jewish blood, and must enlist help from Guillén Santángel, an immortal holding secrets of his own.
Readers are calling the male main character in Abby Jimenez's rom-com Just for the Summer their new favorite , which is saying a lot when it comes to romance lovers. In this Good Morning America book club pick, the story follows Justin and Emma as they come up with a wild plan to cancel out each other's love curses. But what's supposed to be a no-strings-attached fling for the summer could never just be as simple as that, and the pair must navigate tough life situations and undeniably real feelings.
If you love a good young adult story (or are looking for the perfect gift to pick up the teenager in your life), don't skip Alexene Farol Follmuth's (who also writes under the name Olivie Blake ) Twelfth Knight , which is a retelling of the Shakespearean classic set in modern times. This book was a Reese's Book Club pick, so you already know it'll be good, but just in case you want to know what it's about before you hit "add to cart," here's a taste for you. Viola Reyes, VP of the student body, loves nothing more than to escape her daily life into an online Twelfth Knight game, but plays through a masculine alter-ego, Cesario, to ensure a safe space for herself. While online, she meets another player under the alter-ego Duke Orsino, who just so happens to be the real-life Jack Orsino, star running-back of the football team. (I'll leave you to imagine the rest from there.)
Magic, adventure and romance—you'll find it all in Gareth Brown's debut novel, The Book of Doors. This contemporary fantasy is set in a NYC bookshop where bookseller Cassie Andrews comes across a mysterious book that leads to her being hunted by others who are after it. Drummond Fox, a Scottish librarian who keeps tabs on the sought-after tome, approaches Cassie and offers to hide it away in his unique library—but they'll have to navigate around those who are willing to kill for it first. TBH, this sounds like the ideal spooky season read to me.
The Washington Post called Margo's Got Money Troubles the "feel good book we need right now," and reviewers are agreeing. One wrote, "There is so much depth to the surface story. I’m impressed! I was so engrossed in the story and the characters and desperately wanted them to succeed. I’m sad it’s over. I’ll be thinking about Margo for a long time."

To solve her money problems, Margo experiments with starting an OnlyFans, which quickly becomes more popular than she ever imagined—but comes with a price. Sounds like the perfect book to settle in with on a weekend afternoon—I can't wait to get my hands on it.

Get ready to settle in for a complex fantasy story with tons of world building and a swoon-worthy romance plot following rebel assassin Raeve who finds herself imprisoned by a group of powerful fae and Kaan Vaegor, who is on a quest in the midst of grieving a lost love.
I won't say too much more to avoid spoilers, but know that if you're into fantasies that completely sweep you away into another world full of characters you'll adore, this one's worth adding to your cart (especially while you can still score the limited-edition sprayed edge version). Happy reading!
