PDN’s publishing altered due to post office closure
There will be changes to this week’s publication schedule of the Palatka Daily News because of the Fourth of July. Instead of publishing an edition Thursday, the paper will be distributed Friday. The schedule change was necessary because the U.S. Postal Service, which delivers the newspapers, will be closed Thursday in observance of Independence Day.
Wawa opens doors to hundreds of eager patrons
The Palatka Junior-Senior High School Marching Band, an oversized goose and cheery employees greeted patrons Thursday as Wawa in Palatka first opened its doors. Putnam County’s first Wawa, 625 State Road 19, opened at 8 a.m. to a line of people that wrapped around the building waiting to grab a famous Wawa hoagie, get a free cup of coffee, meet Wawa’s mascot Wally Goose or simply browse the souped-up gas station.
