Officials aim to reroute heavy semitrailer traffic in Palatka
County, city and state officials unveiled Tuesday what they hope to be a solution for diverting semitrailer traffic away from Palatka neighborhoods. The Florida Department of Transportation installed signs across Putnam County to establish a new truck route and deter semitrailer drivers from driving on Crill Avenue. Department officials, Rep. Bobby Payne, R-Palatka, county commissioners, Palatka Police Department leaders and city officials showed off one sign that stands along State Road 19 in front of the Winn-Dixie shopping plaza.
