New program could save New Yorkers hundreds of dollars on electricity costs
STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. -- A new pilot program will help roughly 1,000 New York families save big on their monthly electric bills. On Thursday, Gov. Kathy Hochul announced the approval of the Energy Affordability Guarantee pilot program, which will ensure that participating low-income households who fully electrify their space and water heating through the EmPower+ program will pay no more than 6% of their annual household income toward electricity costs.

House Call: Vehicle Slams into Somers Home
SOMERS, N.Y. - On Aug. 14, Members of the Somers Volunteer Fire Department and EMS units raced to a home on Muscoot River Road after receiving reports that a car had crashed into a residence.
