Prince William County to Host Memorial Day Commemoration on May 24

Manassas Resident Wins National Pool Championship
Omer Nawazy of Manassas won the 2024 APA 9-Ball Shootout Pool Championship earlier this month in Las Vegas. Nawazy was amongst nearly 6,000 poolplayers throughout North America who attempted to qualify for the American Poolplayers Association’s (APA) 9-Ball Shootout. He was one of only 820 that advanced to the national finals at the Westgate Las Vegas.

More Than 100 PWCS Students Qualify For All-Virginia Band, Choir, and Orchestra
The Virginia Music Educators Association (VMEA), along with the Virginia Band and Orchestra Directors Association (VBODA), Virginia Choral Directors Association (VCDA), Virginia Elementary Music Educators Association (VEMEA), and Virginia chapter of the American Choral Director’s Association (VA-ACDA), recently hosted the All-Virginia Band, Orchestra and Choir events in Richmond and Harrisonburg. Board of County Supervisors Expands Access to Early Voting
Provided by Prince William County Communications Office. The Board of County Supervisors voted to establish voter satellite office locations during their meeting on May 14 to expand access to early voting. This action will increase the number of voting locations for better voter access and balance, use the same voting locations for consistency, adjust the start dates of satellite location openings and codify satellite locations for special elections. These changes will go into effect for the 2024 November general election pending approval by the Attorney General of Virginia; it does not impact the current primary election.
