ARTfactory to Feature Sandra McClelland-Lewin and Bettie Sperty in “Earthly Delights” Art Exhibit

In an artistic collaboration, local artists Sandra McClelland-Lewin and Bettie Sperty’s bright compositions combine in an exhibit that is a cross between nature’s earthly beauty and ethereal imaginary worlds. Sperty’s artwork ranges from colorful and whimsical to the fine detail of Trompe L’oeil. Her works pair seamlessly next to Lewin’s detailed representational, yet meditative, acrylic paintings. The artwork included in this exhibit features vibrant birds, insects and animals, lush greenery and heavenly skies, all executed in delicate, beautiful detail and often enhanced with shimmering metallic foils, discreet sparkles or pearlescent accents. Each piece compels the viewer to take a closer look.

NVA Thai Street Food and Culture Festival: A Piece of Thailand in Prince William
Twice a month since April 2024, the NVA Thai Street Food and Culture Festival has filled its venue with the enticing scent of grilling meat and the sound of busy vendors and a happy crowd. Besides the street food, there are all sorts of cultural Thai activities and shows for entertainment. The upcoming festivals will be held at the Manassas Museum lawn, which offers a spacious picnic area beneath shade trees as well as a stage area for shows.
Manassas Bee Festival – Thousands Gather to Celebrate Pollinators
June 22 marked the fourth annual Manassas Bee Festival which, despite the record-breaking heat, drew a brightly colored crowd sporting bee antenna head bands and pollinator costumes. The festival celebrated the final day of National Pollinator Week and began with a 2k “Honey Hike” from the Manassas Museum to the festival site of Liberia House and Grounds. Featuring live music by the Stoney Creek Bluegrass Band, dozens of vendors, and a petting zoo, the festival had something for everyone.
