Second Annual Capital Youth Conference
One local church is giving teenagers a safe space to be on Friday nights. With rising crime rates among the youth in Prince William County, the Young Life ministry at Move Church sees an opportunity to connect with local teens. On any Friday night, over 50 high school aged teens gather for a time of fellowship, worship, and to hear a relatable message. This August, the ministry is expanding their Friday night service to a two-day conference.
“The President’s Own” United States Marine Band Celebrates 226th Anniversary
“The President’s Own” United States Marine Band will celebrate its 226th anniversary on July 11 at the National Museum of the Marine Corps in Triangle. Established by Congress on July 11, 1798, “The President’s Own” is the oldest military band in the country. The band earned its name after performing at Thomas Jefferson’s inauguration in 1801. Their repertoire includes patriotic and martial favorites, wind band classics, contemporary compositions, and scores from film and theater.

On Saturday, June 29, 2024, the Town of Occoquan assigned the honorary designation of “Ogle Harris Way” to the 100 block of Poplar Alley in Occoquan. The Town expressed its appreciation for the contributions to the Occoquan community of Ogle Harris, his family, and his descendants through a dedication program and ceremony, attended by dozens of community members, plus local and state representatives.
Beanstalk Farms Demonstrates Commercial Viability with Flagship Facility in Prince William County
Provided by Prince William County Economic Development. In June 2024, Governor Glenn Youngkin announced Beanstalk Farms Inc.’s second indoor farm and distribution facility at the Freedom I-66 Industrial Business Park in Manassas. The project includes 18 new jobs and a capital investment of $4.1 million. Beanstalk Farms expects to produce 2.1 million pounds annually of Virginia Grown leafy greens and fresh-cut herbs.
