Vagrants don’t have the exclusive rights to the sidewalk or the park. They get the same usage as the rest of us meaning, non-exclusive usage. Furthermore, you have no right to menace the public. Untethered rambling is threatening behavior. Aggressive begging is threatening behavior. We will not become the garbage that is California. We will not let drug addicts and the mentally ill take our parks and sidewalks from us.If you’re so mentally ill that you cannot provide the essentials for yourself and are violating basic societal standards then you belong in someone else’s care and custody. If you’ve simply chosen to not provide the essentials for yourself and are making it everyone else’s problem then you belong in jail. The vast majority of the homeless are not people who just “ fell on hard times”. They’re almost entirely drug addicts. There are so many programs and so much money spent (literally 10s of thousands of dollars per homeless person annually) that there is no excuse.
