The NASDAQ had its worst day since March! Is the tech bubble bursting?
The NASDAQ composite index contains more than 3,000 US stocks. It is home to many of the large tech giants, including Microsoft and Apple, along with other innovative companies such as Tesla. It has performed exceptionally well over the past year, beating many other stock indexes around the world. The NASDAQ is up 31% over the past year, but suffered its worst day in months yesterday by falling 2.8%.
Why is the UK stock market going nowhere?
When I view the FTSE 100 index, I wonder why it keeps struggling to gain traction. The Footsie is up almost a fifth (19.2%) over one year. But that was a rebound from steep falls seen during 2020’s Covid-19 crisis. It’s also 11 percentage points behind the US S&P 500 index’s gain of 30.2%. And UK shares seem to be losing momentum as 2021 unwinds. What’s going on? Why does the UK stock market have trouble climbing?

All This Could Happen Again
A year after the United States bombed its pandemic performance in front of the world, the Delta variant opened the stage for a face-saving encore. If the U.S. had learned from its mishandling of the original SARS-CoV-2 virus, it would have been better prepared for the variant that was already ravaging India.
