Brian Setzer Rockabilly Riot Rolls Into Davenport’s Adler Theatre Tonight
Brian Setzer brings his Rockabilly Riot to Davenport’s Adler Theatre at 7:30 p.m. tonight. Tickets are still available at the Adler box office. For the first time in 4 years, Brian Setzer will be heading back on tour with his Rockabilly Riot! solo project later in 2023. The 12-city jaunt takes place in September/October making stops in Red Bank, Mashantucket, Greensburg, Nashville (TN), Cincinnati, Nashville (IN), Northfield, Waukegan, Madison, Des Moines, Davenport and his adopted hometown of Minneapolis. Joining the tour will be an international rockabilly band featuring Chris D’Rozario and Juan Laurios.
Illinois Congressman Sorensen Joins UAW Workers at Picket Line
Congressman Eric Sorensen (IL-17) joined a United Auto Workers (UAW) picket line with workers from UAW Local 1268 at the Belvidere Assembly Plant outside Rockford. “It was inspiring to be in Belvidere today and stand in solidarity with Local 1268 in their fight for higher wages, better benefits, and safer workplace conditions,” said Sorensen. “I will continue to have their backs, and the backs of the more than 10,000 UAW workers across Central and Northwestern Illinois, who are simply asking for their fair share at a time when big corporations and CEOs are reaping record profits.”

Join Davenport Public Library at 6:30pm on Monday, October 16th at Main (321 N. Main St.) for a comedic night from Bill Mueller. Mr. Mueller will recount entertaining stories of family history and farm life and discuss stories from his second book “Time to Ship Another Steer”. “Time to Ship Another Steer” is about Mueller’s upbringing on a small farm in Kenosha, Wisconsin as one of eleven children.
Davenport Teen Angela Chen A Semifinalist In National Merit Scholarship Program
Angela Chen, 12th-grade student at North High School, has been selected as a semifinalist in the 2024 National Merit Scholarship program. Students from around the nation are selected based on their PSAT scores. Semifinalists are the highest-scoring participants in each state. Out of the 1,300,000 students who took the PSAT in October 2022, Angela is one of the 16,000 semifinalists. This is a huge honor!
