Toyota is experiencing the latter, having discovered earlier this year a defect in its twin-turbocharged V-6 truck engines that power the Tundra pickup truck as well as Lexus's LX luxury SUVs—at least, those 2022 to 2023 model-year variants built between November 2021 and February 2023 (or the same model years built between July 2021 and November 2022 for the LX). Toyota has announced 2025 model year updates for the Sequoia. Completely redesigned for MY2023, the three-row SUV gains the 1794 Edition trim, a special paint color for the TRD trim, and more luxury for the front-row occupants. Already offered on the Tundra pickup truck, the 1794 grade gives customers more choice when specifying their Sequoia. These improvements come at a cost, though, with the 2025 Sequoia receiving a price hike. It would appear Toyota has discontinued the 4x2 variants of the Platinum and Capstone trims.
