Volunteers matter to community
Left, United Communities Volunteer Fire Department President Phil Bowles is joined by two of the newest members of the fire department, Brady Reising, and his father, retired professional firefighter (Montgomery County) Buzz Reising. UCVFD, as do all volunteer fire departments in Queen Anne’s County, depend on volunteers to strengthen their volunteer services to their communities. Brady graduated from the Cadet program at UCVFD this past year, and was voted in as a regular, certified firefighter of the fire department now. He’s had the same training as his father, and can now serve his community.
QACPS approves FY25 budget, calls for future public support
CENTREVILLE — As the Queen Anne’s County Public Schools (QACPS) Board of Education approved its FY25 budget, they voiced appreciation for additional fundings found by the County Commissioners and gave a call to action to the public for future support needed at its work session June 26. Ethics meeting July 8
There will be a “Special Ethics Meeting” at 5:30 p.m., Monday, July 8 at the Liberty Building, Orphan’s Court Meeting Room, Centreville. The Queen Anne’s County Ethics Commission administers the County’s Public Ethics Law (Chapter 8 of the Queen Anne’s County Code) by encouraging and enforcing compliance with its requirements. The Commission does so by various educational and informational outreach efforts, issuance of Advisory Opinions, consideration and resolution of Complaints, ensuring compliance with public financial disclosure requirements of various County officials and employee’s, and overseeing lobbyist registration and annual reporting requirements.

Alleged Assault of Deputy Leads to Suspect Search in Grasonville
