Governor candidate Eigel campaigns in Lebanon
Bill Eigel, a candidate for governor, made a campaign stop in Lebanon Friday morning. Eigel spoke to supporters at Cafe’ Judes in Downtown Lebanon. He fielded questions about how he would deal with illegal immigrant, state support for veterans and education. Eigel is seeking the Republican nomination in the Aug. 6 primary election. The other major candidates include Lt. Gov. Mike Kehoe and Secretary of State Jay Ashcroft. Eigel is currently a state senator serving the 23rd district and lives in Weldon Spring. Arnold man takes first place in 'My Best Ride' photo contest
Earl Stephens of Arnold won the $100 top prize in the My Best Ride photo contest for his photo of a 1923 Ford T-bucket he bought in memory of his late father. Robin Potter of High Ridge took second place and $75, and Kevin Carle of Festus won the $50 third-place prize in the contest, sponsored by Grand Times, Leader Publications’ magazine for senior citizens. The contest was held in conjunction with the West Side Senior Expo set for 8 a.m. to noon Wednesday, July 24, at Northwest High School, 6005 Cedar Hill Road, in Cedar Hill.
