    Rowan County elementary school cancels class Friday after storm damage

    MOUNT ULLA, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — A school in Rowan County canceled classes Friday following storm damage to the building Thursday night.

    Administrators at Mount Ulla Elementary School announced that school is canceled for students Friday, April 12. It will be a remote workday for staff.

    There were severe thunderstorms in the area Thursday. Viewer video shows damage to an athletic field and parking lot.

    The cancellation only applied to Mount Ulla and no other schools in the Rowan-Salisbury system.
