    President Biden approves NC emergency resources for Tropical Storm Debby

    CHARLOTTE ( QUEEN CITY NEWS ) — One day after approving an emergency declaration for South Carolina, President Biden has approved the same measures for North Carolina.

    The declaration mainly activates FEMA resources to alleviate “the hardship and suffering caused by the emergency on the local population and to provide appropriate assistance for required emergency measures, authorized under Title V of the Stafford Act to save lives and to protect property and public health and safety, and to lessen or avert the threat of a catastrophe.”

    Federal funding and reimbursement will cover the following counties:

    • Carteret
    • Caswell
    • Chatham

    • Davidson
    • Duplin
    • Durham
    • Edgecombe
    • Forsyth
    • Franklin
    • Granville
    • Greene
    • Guilford
    • Halifax
    • Harnett
    • Hoke
    • Johnston
    • Jones
    • Lee
    • Lenoir
    • Martin
    • Montgomery
    • Moore
    • Nash
    • New Hanover
    • Northampton
    • Onslow
    • Orange
    • Pamlico
    • Pender
    • Person
    • Pitt
    • Randolph
    • Richmond
    • Robeson
