One dead from crash involving motorcycle on Fairview Road; road closed

CHARLOTTE, N.C. ( QUEEN CITY NEWS ) — One person is dead following a crash in south Charlotte Thursday afternoon.

According to Medic officials, the accident occurred around 3:15 p.m. on Fairview Road near Valencia Terrace. Police said it involved a car and a motorcycle.

One person was pronounced dead at the scene.

Fairview Road was closed for several hours in both directions, between Colony and Carmel Roads, but has reopened.

This is the second fatal crash in Charlotte on Thursday, following one in east Charlotte .
