    Lincolnton man wins $1 million scratch-off lottery prize

    LINCOLNTON, N.C. ( QUEEN CITY NEWS ) — A Lincoln County man won big with a $50 scratch-off lottery ticket, the North Carolina Lottery reports.

    Maurice Young won a $1 million prize after buying a $10 Million Spectacular ticket from the Kingsway on North Aspen Street in Lincolnton.

    Young had two options, he could receive $50,000 annually for the next twenty years or a lump sum of $600,000. He chose the lump sum, taking home $428,801 after taxes.

    The $10 Million Spectacular began in December with five $10 million top prizes, twenty $1 million prizes and twenty $100,000 prizes.

    Three $10 million prizes, seven $1 million prizes and nine $100,000 prizes have yet to be claimed.
