UNC Charlotte student victim of an armed robbery

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — A UNC Charlotte student was the victim of an armed robbery on campus Friday, university officials say.

According to the school, a male student reported that at approximately 7:45 p.m., an unknown male approached him in the CHHS Building, pulled up his shirt to brandish what appeared to be a weapon and demanded he turn over his blue backpack. The suspect then fled with the backpack.

The suspect is described as a black male in his early 20s, wearing a medical face mask and a red sweatshirt.

School officials say there will be a police presence as they search for the suspect.
