    8K students at 20 Catholic schools in Charlotte return to class Wednesday

    CHARLOTTE (QUEEN CITY NEWS) – Charlotte Catholic High School in south Charlotte is one of many Catholic schools in the Queen City where families will see their children return to the classroom on Wednesday.

    Wednesday marks the first day of school for more than 8,000 students at 20 Catholic schools around the city. The first bell for many of these schools was set for 7:35 a.m. Enrollment at Catholic schools throughout the Queen City is the highest it’s ever been, rising more than 15% since 2019.

    Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools will hold its first day of school on Monday with staggered starts at some schools.
