CHICAGO (NEXSTAR) – Thursday night is the big night.  All eyes will be on Vice President Kamala Harris as she takes the stage at the Democratic National Convention.

She will deliver remarks to accept the Democratic nomination for president.

Harris will be the second woman, and first woman of color, to grace the top of a major party ticket for president but we’re told this will not necessarily be the focal point of her speech tonight.

Her campaign says we can expect to hear Harris talk about her middle-class roots and lay out her optimistic vision for the country.

“We’re all Americans and together let’s all chose Kamala Harris,” said Oprah Winfrey.

After another night of enthusiastic star-studded speeches and tender moments Vice President Harris will deliver the most consequential speech of her political career with the entire nation watching.

“I know what she’s about and I can’t wait until America hears from her,” said Sen. Cory Booker (D-N.J.).

New Jersey Senator Cory Booker who served in the Senate with Harris for four years says he’s confident Harris will meet the moment.

“Joy is coming that is what has me so excited,” said Booker.

The Harris campaign says the VP will talk about her upbringing as the daughter of two immigrants, her record as a prosecutor and contrast her optimistic vision for the future against that of former president Donald Trump’s.

Also helping to wrap up the final day, Michigan’s Governor Gretchen Whitmer and

    North Carolina’s Roy Cooper.

Notably missing from this week’s speaker line up, a Palestinian-American.  The exclusion prompted a sit-in near the convention’s entrance. A group of uncommitted voters are demanding a ceasefire in Gaza.

The convention has not shied away from including Republican voices.  Former Illinois congressman Adam Kinzinger will join the list of high-profile conservatives hitting the stage Thursday night.
