    4 occupants, canine displaced after west Charlotte fire

    CHARLOTTE, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — Four people and a dog are displaced after a fire breaks out in a west Charlotte home.

    Officials say around 1:36 p.m., crews responded to a house at the 3800 block of Bristol Drive.

    When firefighters arrived, they saw smoke conditions coming from the front door.

    Firefighters controlled the incident in 14 minutes. Investigators say that the fire was accidental and started in the laundry room/utility closet.

    The estimated property and content loss is estimated to be $35k.

    No injuries to civilians or first responders were reported.

    The occupants are being assisted by the Red Cross.
