5th annual ‘Paddle Battle’ at Lake Wylie this weekend

LAKE WYLIE (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — Paddleboarders from all over the country are at Lake Wylie this weekend for the 5th annual Bon Temps Paddle Battle.

Around 150 racers paddle along different courses, some of which are 14 miles long.

The event also featured food trucks and live music. Organizers tell Queen City News the races are a great way to encourage more people to get out on the water.

“It’s just a passion that I have, I love,” organizer Heidi Cole said. “I just love teaching standup paddleboarding, and just love seeing people out on the water having a great time, enjoying the camaraderie of each other.”
