CHARLOTTE, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — Car enthusiasts in Charlotte came out in support of teachers ahead of back to school.

The event took place Sunday afternoon at Stonecrest Shopping Center in Piper Glen near Tap & Vine restaurant, who were sponsors of the event.

The event showcased different kinds of cars ranging from muscle cars to dune buggies, live music and fun for people of all ages.

It was also an opportunity for those who love cars to help kids and teachers in need.

All proceeds from the event go towards buying school supplies for Classroom Central, which is a local non-profit that supports teachers and students around Charlotte.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg schools start back on August 26.
