Fatal crash investigation underway in east Charlotte: CMPD

CHARLOTTE ( QUEEN CITY NEWS ) — Authorities are investigating a fatal crash in east Charlotte, the Charlotte Mecklenburg Police Department announced around 10 p.m. on Wednesday.

The incident happened in the 5000 block of North Sharon Amity Road near Shamrock Drive.

CMPD says to expect major traffic delays and to avoid the area.

Officials have not said what led up to the crash or if anyone else was injured.
