ASHE COUNTY, N.C. ( QUEEN CITY NEWS ) — A Warrensville man lost his life Friday when he ran off a private road in a 1965 Chevrolet truck, according to the North Carolina State Highway Patrol.

Just after 3 p.m., troopers were called to Clint Gilley Road at Heavenly Mountain View. They say John Shoemake was trying to back the Chevy loaded with gravel down Heavenly Mountain View when he ran off the right side of the private road, slid down an embankment and landed upside down on Clint Gilley Road.
