CLT Airport Checkpoint C closing, new American counters open in next step of expansion

CHARLOTTE ( QUEEN CITY NEWS ) — More changes are coming to the Charlotte Douglas International Airport as it enters phase five of six of the Terminal Lobby Expansion (TLE).

Starting on Thursday, September 5, Checkpoint C will close as construction begins for Checkpoint 2. Those with TSA PreCheck will go to Checkpoint A.

Eleven of the 25 new American Airlines ticket counters will open between Door 2 and 3 in the middle of the Terminal Lobby. The rest of the new ticket counters are expected to open in October.

Charlotte airport is the most crowded airport I have ever seen. Planes holding for extended periods waiting for a gate and people crowded in the causeway hardly able to get to their gate. It's like a cattle stock yard.
