Charlotte man arrested in Mooresville, faces drug charges: Sheriff

IREDELL COUNTY, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) – A Charlotte man is facing a slew of drug charges following a traffic stop in Mooresville, the Iredell County Sheriff”s Office said on Thursday.

Deputies conducted a traffic stop on 31-year-old Charlotte resident Kenyatta Smoot, Jr. on Monday at 1:42 a.m. by Charlotte Highway and WAterlynn Ridge Road in Mooresville. Deputies smelled marijuana and during a search of the vehicle seized cocaine, Alporazolem, Buprenorphine, Lorazepam, Clonazepam, and a fully loaded gun.

Smoot was arrested and faces a slew of drug-related charges including selling and possession charges.

He was held on a $10,000 secured bond.
