As is policy, the State Law Enforcement Division (SLED) was called to investigate. Officials say the death appears to be suicide.

This inmate entered the detention center on August 27 awaiting trial on charges of malicious injury to property, communicating obscene messages to another person, domestic violence first degree, domestic violence second degree and burglary first degree.

The inmate is not being named until the investigation is finished and the family is notified.
