( PINPOINT WEATHER ) — Starting Sunday morning off with a few areas of fog in the mountains and some lingering clouds over the Queen City. Any clouds and fog should gradually decrease through the morning and lead to plenty of sun this afternoon.

High pressure is building into our region from the north, which is going to lead to excellent weather across the region. Not only today but through much of this week.

Plenty of afternoon sun and high temperatures only in the 70s. Mountain counties will see 60s for highs for your Sunday. Very low humidity throughout your Sunday will make it feel even more fall-like. Weather looks perfect for any Carolina Panthers watch parties.

Clear skies tonight, along with dry air will allow temperatures to fall into the 50s across the region, with 40s in the mountains.

Monday will start cool and quiet, with widespread fog likely in the mountains. Expecting high temperatures to return back into the lower 80s under abundant sunshine for Monday. Very copy and paste forecast for Tuesday, with high temperatures more towards the mid-80s. 70s for the mountains through all of this week. Feeling comfortable for outdoor hiking.

We will remain dry, with lower humidity through the middle of the week. Shower chances will return on Friday, but the higher chance for rain looks to come on Saturday as we head into next weekend.

We are also watching the tropics as an area of interest in the Bay of Campeche region of the Gulf of Mexico now has a high-end chance of forming into a tropical cyclone.

No threat to the Carolinas at this time and any impacts from this storm would be minimal locally. However, you want to keep an eye on this storm if you have any interest along the western Gulf Coast.

The National Hurricane Center is also watching two areas of interest off the coast of Africa, which have a medium chance of forming into a tropical cyclone.

No threats to the Carolinas at this time from those tropical waves.
