GEORGETOWN COUNTY, S.C. (WBTW) — A Kensington Elementary student has been charged with making threats against his school on Tuesday, the Georgetown County Sheriff’s Office said.

The 11-year-old said during indoor recess he planned to bring a gun to school the next day, authorities said. He was immediately removed from the classroom and escorted to the principal’s office.

Investigators interviewed the student and conducted a search of his bedroom where they found a .22-caliber Airsoft pistol and CO2 cartridges.

The student was charged with making school threats and is subject to the district’s disciplinary policies. The school operated under normal conditions, and no students were endangered.
