‘Battle of the Badges’ blood drive in Charlotte

CHARLOTTE ( QUEEN CITY NEWS ) — First responders in Charlotte invited everyone to come out and be a hero on Monday for the annual “Battle of the Badges” blood drive.

It’s a friendly competition between the Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s Office, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department, Medic, and Charlotte Fire Department.

The drives were held at each of their respective headquarters.

It’s timed to happen just ahead of 9/11 to show support for first responders.
