Meth seized during traffic stop in Catawba County: Sheriff

CATAWBA COUNTY, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) – Meth was seized during a traffic stop last week in Catawba County and the driver is now facing a series of charges, the Catawba County Sheriff’s Office said.

Deputies attempted to conduct a traffic stop for a registration violation on Christopher Buchanon, 44, last Thursday on Springs Road. A K9 alerted deputies to the presence of narcotics and a search was conducted. During the search, 78.90 grams of meth was discovered and Buchanon was arrested.

He faces multiple charges including trafficking and was held on a $55,000 bond and appeared in court on Friday.
