    ‘Hold protocal’ lifted at Chester County school after firearm recovered

    CHESTER COUNTY, S.C. ( QUEEN CITY NEWS ) — A high school in Chester County lifted its ‘hold protocol’ after a firearm was recovered, according to the sheriff’s office.

    Authorities said the incident happened at Chester High School on Wednesday, Sept. 11. A firearm was recovered and a criminal investigation was launched.

    A ‘hold protocol’ is when students and staff remain in their classrooms or other areas to stay safe while the investigation is underway.

    The Chester County Sheriff’s Office said there was a large law enforcement presence on campus.

    Authorities stressed that “there was no immediate danger to students.” Normal operations have resumed and school will be dismissed as normal. Officials said there will be additional deputies during dismissal to ensure the safety of students and staff.
