    Extra law enforcement at Lancaster High School after online threat: District

    LANCASTER, S.C. ( QUEEN CITY NEWS ) — A high school in Lancaster County had extra staff and law enforcement on campus Wednesday following an online threat, district officials confirmed.

    The Lancaster County School District received an alert through social media from an unknown person about an alleged shooting at Lancaster High School on Wednesday, September 11.

    Due to the threat, “Extra staff and law enforcement are on site. We will continue to monitor the situation. Lancaster County School District places student and staff safety as a priority,” a district spokesperson said to Queen City News on Wednesday.

    The school district confirmed all threats of violence were investigated.

    “Lancaster County School District utilizes a See Something, Say Something form to report school threats such as a weapon on school grounds, bullying, harassment, threats, vandalism, and alcohol or drugs on school grounds,” a district spokesperson said.

    This was the second school district to report an incident on Wednesday. A high school in Chester County was put on ‘hold protocol’ after a firearm was recovered.

    Meanwhile, on Tuesday, two children, an 11-year-old and a 12-year-old, were accused of making threats against multiple schools in North Carolina . In total, over 40 threats were made Tuesday.
