CHARLOTTE ( QUEEN CITY NEWS ) — Northlake Mall in north Charlotte is one of several locations in North Carolina that will be receiving funding for a new EV charging station, North Carolina Governor Roy Cooper announced on Wednesday.

Officials said $1,090,841 was awarded for the project, part of a $109 million clean transportation state initiative.

“This is an exciting start, but there’s so much more to come for clean transportation,” said Governor Cooper. “By expanding the EV charging network, all North Carolinians will be able to choose transportation options that are more efficient, more affordable, and better for our environment.”

Elizabeth City, Marion, and New Bern are some of the other locations that have been awarded.
